Commencement Ceremonies – Foul Weather Contingencies Update
Boerne ISD continues to closely monitor the weather as related to the scheduled commencement ceremonies Thursday and Friday evenings.
In the event either ceremony must be rescheduled because of inclement weather, the district will look for the next available weather window in order to conduct the ceremony in the stadium venue. At this time, all reasonable possibilities are in play: delayed start times; Friday morning or afternoon timeslots; Saturday morning, afternoon or evening timeslots; etc.
Even in our continual monitoring of conditions, the forecast can change. Accordingly, it would be premature and potentially more disruptive to family schedules to attempt to identify a specific contingency time slot prior to making a determination to reschedule away from the original time.
The district's goal is to give its graduates every possible opportunity to experience the commencement ceremonies along with family and friends in the stadium setting. The safety and comfort of graduates and guests is a priority.
Any announcements regarding alternate plans will be distributed as soon as decisions can be made via the district's parent notification system (e-mail), Facebook, Twitter, SchoolWay mobile app, and the Boerne ISD website.
